Reasonable hotel in PetraCountry forums / Middle East / Jordan
Hello, is the cheapest hotel in Petra the Marriott, at 150 euros??? Thanks.
Of course not! Double rooms for 15JOD are nothing uncommon in Wadi Musa. I hope your fiancée will agree on a hotel below 5* level ;) | 1
Wow thanks again for great news. Yes after the splurge at the Dead Sea we'll go to more reasonable hotels. But maybe there is something in between, something at 40- 60 JOD For example? If we follow the schedule I've planned, we really won't be looking for a swimming pool at the hotel at Petra. How do you find reasonable hotels at Petra? All websites I checked only mentioned the 4 very expensive ones. Edit: Never mind!! Searching for "hotels wadi musa" instead of "hotels Petra" brought a choice of hotels under 100 dollars. Thanks again. Edited by: frantsuz_2 | 2
Hi mate A good way to look at different hotel websites in Petra is to look at go2petra website .. it offers you variety of options of hotel websites to check .. good luck and hope u enjoy ur stay!! | 3
Thanks a lot Jebril. I'll certainly use this site to book a room this week-end. I just took 2 minutes to have a look. One of the 3 star hotels asks people to send them their credit card data before even knowing the rates. On an insecured website of course. | 4
I have just been to Petra and stayed at Wadi Musa for 3 nights. If you want to check out cheaper places there are many. Refer to Hostelworld and put in Wadi Musa... youll find plenty. | 5
It depends on your idea of "reasonable". I paid 4JD per night at Cliff hostel off of Al Malek Faisal Street, but the room was very basic and the bathroom and shower were shared (toilet paper was also not included, and hot water was unreliable). Still 4JD is a much better price than what you were looking at. The Palace Hotel might be a better budget option. | 6
There was a hotel right next to the Marriott, Petra Moon I think? It was 2-3 stars and about 30-45 JD. There are also your zero star typical hostels, JD15 for a double room with private bath. | 7
GlobeTrottinHomeBody (6) : Cliff Hostel and Palace Hotel are in Amman, not Wadi Musa ..... | 8
Thanks for the advice. I won't go to Jordan this time though. | 9
Hey, I went camping for my honeymoon! I pity the partners of people who think that vacation involves sitting on your butt enjoying the scenery at your hotel :) | 10
i have stayed at the valentine inn in -petra and it was recommended to me from many travellers i met in my way to jordan | 11
Shara Mountains Hotel is the place. Big guy runs it, its not in the Lonely planet. Clean rooms, not too big. Good breakfast of the usual Egg, bread cheese and jam. But the guy is fab. 23jd a night. | 12
I agree about Shara Mountains hostel. Just got back from Jordan and spent 4 nights there. It was clean, and simple, exactly what you pay for. Great value for Petra. | 13
