Good day...

Would like to find out what type of Visa will be needed to visit Saudi Arabia. I'm currently working in Kuwait as I teacher and have my civil ID. I'm south African and would like to know how I go about application to get a visiting Visa....

My next question would be to ask what do I do if I want to travel to Bahrain....

Kind regards
Angela Williams

I don't know if being a resident in Kuwait gives you any extra rights. If you are travelling as a South African citizen, with a SA passport,I guess not.

Anyway, for Bahrain you need an evisa afaik. There is no VOA for South African citizens. To get that visa (online) you need to scan details of both your flights in and out and your hotel booking.

For Saudi Arabia it is almost impossible to get a visa (unless you are a Muslim,or going there for business). You can try at the Saudi embassy I suppose, but they don't really give 'tourist visas' to anyone.

As a GCC resident you do have favoured status, but as a woman, you will still struggle. The Saudis are particularly intimidated by young, single females and routinely refuse business visas for unmarried women below the age of 40, so be prepared to not win this battle. Your best bet would be to try and do it on a road transit visa. This is a very old thread, but is still the most complete description of the process I've come across:

I'm not familiar with the Bahrain visas, but I assume that as a GCC resident you will be eligible to get an evisa without too much effort.
