Packing for 2 MonthsCountry forums / Middle East / Israel
I will be travelling to Europe and Israel this summer and I'll be over there for two months from mid May to mid July. Itinerary as of right now is: The first 3 weeks will be spent on a group tour, so I'll be moving around a lot. The final two weeks will be on an intensive archaeology work/study program where I will spend a lot of time working outside. I'm trying to figure out how to pack for this long and still pack light, especially if I will be moving around quite a bit for the first half of the trip. Anyone have any tips on how much and what would be ideal for me to take? Cheers!
It will be warm in July, so that's good for packing light! I would keep clothes to a minimum, and bring things that dry fast so you can wash them out in the hotel sink and they're good to go in the morning. (Jeans are a nightmare to wash on the go...) Remember that you can buy most anything you'd need in Italy or Israel, so no need to bring a lot of extras just in case. I would bring 1 pair of comfortable black pants that could pass as dressy for a nice restaurant or concert (I have some from Patagonia that I love) I like to use a smallish backpacking backpack, like around 40-50 liter size, and also a small handbag for valuables. Well I'm sure I'm leaving some important things out, but that is my suggestion off the top of my head. Remember to leave room in your bag to buy things along the way. Sounds like a fun trip! | 1
Less is more on lengthy voyages, and since you'll be traveling in the summer season, you can always pick up additional items along the way. I'd suggest 3 full sets of clothes, a week's worth of socks and underwear, sandals, travel towel and toiletries. | 2
