Hi, I'm arriving into Dubai airport 18th October at 2.30 am and my connecting flight isn't leaving until 10.00am the following day giving me an 8 hour stop over. Can anyone advise how best/cost effective to spend that time i.e what lounges do people recommend, are there bedrooms available etc? Not looking to spend mega bucks but i do appreciate nothing is for free!

I did search the forums but all advice was at least 3-4 years old; hope this can provide some new info for myself and others.

Cheers!

When I've been through overnight there have always been relatively quiet areas with many people sacked out on the carpet. Not for eveyone I guess, but it's pretty comfy carpet.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.

There are snooze cubes. And as the previous poster says, there are always people flaked out on the floor in terminal one.

But if you're eligible for a free visa on arrival why not leave the airport? Taxis are metered and quite cheap. You could take a 15 minute ride to the Downtown area and have a look at Burj Khalifa then stop off in an all night restaurant on Sheikh Zayed Road on your way back.

Interesting advice- is Dubai lively in the middle of a night on a weekday? Cheers
