No there are not many guidebooks, I do have to say that most places in Iran have very accurate Wikipedia pages that are usually pretty up to date and one of your best resources can also be many of the Iran travel-themed Facebook pages to get ideas from both people who have travelled there as well as locals. Local advice goes only so far as often times logistics and transparency can be tricky for non Iranians / farsi speakers - so you need to be well-informed if you are on your own.
