jordan to jerusalem

Hi,

HAS ANYONE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ABOUT TRIP TO jERUSALEM FROM jORDAN.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO IN 1 DAY . WHAT TIME ARE BORDER CROSSINGS OPEN .
HOW MUCH WOULD IT ALL COST .WOULD IT BE BETTER TO STAY ONE NIGHT IN JERUSLEM .
ARE THERE TOURS FROM JORDAN THAT WOULD ARRANGE PACKAGE. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP.

Joylennon, bottom line is that Jerusalem isn't a practical day trip from Jordan. Long delays are common at the border (in both directions), and you might end up with only an hour or so in Jerusalem before having to leave so you can get back to the border before it closes. I'm assuming you're talking about the Allenby (King Hussein) Bridge crossing, as that's the only one anywhere near Jerusalem. Staying at least one night in Jerusalem would make much more sense.

Also, are you aware that in the next few weeks there are a lot of Jewish religious holidays that would have a very serious impact on your trip, if you're thinking of going in September or the first week in October? Read FAQ 52 for a summary of the dates and what you can expect.

If you get there at 0730 and return to border 1900 - it is possible to have a good 8 hours in Jerusalem.
However, thats not Friday or Saturday as the border closes at 2pm.
Its better to have at least one overnight stay - and the cost doing it yourself will be around 100 Euro per person staying in a small hotel, going, coming, food, exit taxes etc.. so not very cheap but worth it.
a further night would be just 30jd for hotel + food
Hope this helps. You need approx 1.5/2hours to cross into Israel and 1hrs to get back to Jordan - one hour from Amman to border and one hour from border to Israel..
