Is it advisable to book a place to stay?

We are about to visit Iran and are checking out places to stay.
Is it advisable to book in advance or can you just arrive in a place like Kashan and walk around til you find somewhere to your fancy and budget

If you book "everything" in advance that means your itinerary will be fixed in advance. No flexibility and no freedom.
It's not a good idea.
I was there few years in advance without any booking.

Except for holiday season, like Nowruz still going on now, it's easy to find accommodation, if you are not too picky.
In Kashan we could stay at Ehsan, a very nice traditional hotel, only for one night and had to move to more ordinary place across the road, as Ehsan was fully booked for next few days. I still prefer it that way, travelling inside a country without fixed dates or bookings made in advance.

btw - anyone speaking Farsi please....
Is there anything "gypsy" in the name of a hotel "Manouchehri House". What does manouchehri mean in Farsi?

There is not anything in the name of the hotel. manouchehr is a boy name.

Gypsy in Farsi is "kooli" (کولی).

A few years ago there were hardly any tourists, now that is a completely different story in spring and autumn, regrettably it is getting busier and busier. Good for Iran, but not how I prefer it.

Thanks. Manouche, possibly in French only, is a branch of Gypsies. It could be a coincidence in spelling though, even if it's of Sanskrit origin, closer to Iran than France.

i stayed two days in kashan and there was a tour guide who rented a house for me very cheap, i think it's better to rent somewhere.possibly i could find his number i have to check it
