My son and I plan on hiking in Jordan in April 2018. Is this a trip we could do DIY (we're not experienced hikers, esp in foreign countries, but we are in good shape). Any recommendations are appreciated as it looks like a 10 day "adventure tour" would cost a bit less than $7,000 USD for the two of us. Lots of stuff included. Just wondering if its possible to do it more economically with the same level of experience. THANKS!

Is it ten days only with hiking ?
You should able to arrange some hiking when you will be there but I don't know if you will visit also some places like the Rum, Petra or Jerash for example.
These places can be visited by yourself or from Visitor Center for the Rum.
You can't hike in the middle of nowhere by yourself but I don't know what "adventure tour" means...
It's not cheap but as I was there on my own, it's difficult to have an advice regarding the price. Too expensive in my point of view but I don't know the program...

Thanks Michel,
The outfit is called Experience Jordan and they have a bunch of different tours. The "Adventure Tour" is what they are calling it with stops to Petra, Wadi Rum, Wadi Hidan and snorkeling in Aqaba etc.
I'm partial to DIY, but in a case like this I think I have to go with a tour operator. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks!

It's up to you but Petra or the Rum can be visited without a tour...
It's easy to reach Aqaba where you have places for snorkeling. Doable by yourself too.
I don't know Wadi Hidan.
You are the only to know if you can / want to pay 7000 USD for a such tour.
I think it will be difficult to find some advice because independent travellers are numerous on this forum.
It could be a good idea to post on TA too.
