According to this site Electronic Visas will be issued in 72 hours from the new website: http://www.electronicvisa.ir</a>.

It is said that the information will be sent to every legal border (point of entry) in Iran but in the website you can only choose IKIA.

They will also start to scan fingerprints of visitor digitally in IKIA and Kish airport.

This website is currently only used for registering 14-days IKA airport visa requests before arrival.

Even if it's a little limited at the moment, it's a welcome step in the right direction!

I checked with the Foreign Ministry and it still does not work for nationalities like British and Canadian.

Is there an Engish translation to that first link? Also the second link - http://www.electronicvisa.ir - isn't working for me, is it just me?

I found various English versions which hav e popped up on a google search for "electronic visa iran", typically http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=60847&sectionid=351020108

it gives one a link to the Iranian Foreign Ministry website but the "login to evisa" link doesn't work, so maybe it isn't yet up & working If anyone knows when this may work or can confirm that it is in fact not yet working, let us know!
