Getting from Jerusalem to Nazareth on a Saturday morning

I am travelling from Jerusalem to Nazareth on a Saturday morning, so the Egged buses aren't operating. Are there any other public transport options (e.g. service taxis, any Arab buses)? If not, approx how much would it cost me to pay for a private taxi for this route?

You can take a sherut from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, and another sherut from Tel Aviv to Haifa.

When I get home (see my answer to your other query just now) I'll check the buses from Haifa to Nazareth. I'm pretty sure there are buses on Saturdays, and I'll let you know.

I doubt very much you'd get a private taxi from Jerusalem to Nazareth at a price you would be willing to pay. They'd charge you for both directions because the chances of their picking up passengers in Nazareth wanting to go to Jerusalem are virtually nil.

And thanks for this one also - definitely interested in the details. Only other thought that occurred to me was to go on one of those daily tours of Nazareth/Galilee etc that run about $80 and then leave the tour once we get to Nazareth.

Here's your bus info:

From Tiberias to Nazareth, bus 431
Leaves at 6:30, 7:40, 9:00, 9:45, 10:30, then hourly till 1730, 19:00, 20:15, journey time half an hour.

From Nazareth to Tiberias, bus 431
Leaves at 6:38, 7:18, 0:08, 9:08, 10:23, 11:08, then hourly till 17:08, 18:53, 20:23

No Saturday service

From Haifa to Nazareth, bus 331 or 332, every few minutes daily (Saturdays as well), journey time 45 minutes.
On weekdays they leave from various places in Haifa, but all of them stop at the “Checkpost”. Anyone in Haifa will tell you where that is; it’s known even in Hebrew as Checkpost. (It’s the junction of roads 4 and 75 on the southeast edge of Haifa, and the bus stop will be on road 75 after the junction in the direction of travel.)
On Saturdays all the buses depart from Palmer Square, which is in the central downtown area near the port, and they also stop at the Checkpost.

The bus company is Nazareth Transport and Tourism Company (or words to that effect - it's my translation of the Hebrew).

might as well take an all-day tour for around $80 on "United" (can book next to Jaffa Gate of old city in jerusalem) and u will go to nazareth and the sea of galilee area and get history of the region. for me, nazareth was not overly special. just a modern church - the church of the anunciation. i preferred the sea of galilee region and those churches. so might as well take a day tour and go to nazareth and the sea of galilee.
