Get a two-weeks visa at the IKIA airport in Teheran

Dear friends!

Is it possible to get a two-weeks visa at the IKIA airport in Teheran now? I am an Austrian citizen.

Im not sure about that, there has been conflicting info about it. You can definitely get a 7 days visa, and it should be easy to get an extension. http://iranianvisa.com/uponarr.htm

NO ! Australian citizens do NOT qualify for the on arrival visa ! So you'll have to get your visa beforehand in Australian at the Iranian embassy.

A gentleman, who is a hotel manager has confirmed me that there is a 15 days visa on arrival for Iran starting with the 19.2. The Austrian citizens are also qualified to get this kind of visa.
would you be so kind as to call the immigration office and tell me how it is.

even australian can get the arrival visa 15 days in airports too , before was not possible for them to get 7 days arrival visa , but it is possible now nearly most countries .

According to airline information:
National AUSTRIA (AT)

Destination IRAN (ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF) (IR)

Visa required. However, it can be issued on arrival provided:
1. coming for tourist purposes only for a max. stay of 17
days; and
- arriving at Bushehr, Chah-Bahar, Gheshm, Kish, Mashad,
Shiraz, Tabriz and Tehran (IKA and THR); and
- holding photo and USD 50.- for the holder of the passport
and USD 10.- for each of the companions (if any) to cover
visa fee; OR
2. passenger has been introduced by means of a letter from
valid organization or government at least two days prior to
arrival, for a max. stay of 72 hours. Fee: USD 30.-.

7 days or 17 days?!!

point 2 in the thread 8 on regulations is not clear. what do they mean by "introduction"? I heard that some people had problems as they were asked by the immigration officer to present not only a letter of hotel booking confirmation but a name and phone of a person to confirm it. though finally he permitted to enter the country.
