Discos and Clubs in Dubai only for white people?Country forums / Middle East / United Arab Emirates
I want to go to dubai in about one month. I read some articles about the clubscene in Dubai And when i live in a hotel which has a disco or club, would it be easier to get in? Thank you for your answers in advance.
The colour of your skin or nationality isn't so much a factor as the amount of money you can flash. No, I'm not talking about bribing the bouncers, but how rich you look - stylish dress, nice watch, confident demeanour. Dubai isn't a place that's too obsessed with nationality or religion or racial origins, but it is a classist city and sad to say, pretty much everyone can successfully pigeonhole other people's socio-economic backgrounds simply by looking at them. The club bouncers will have no problems spotting the difference between a lowly Indian wage earner who's saved money for a night out to taste the decadent elements of the Dubai scene and a groomed Jordanian or British banker. As it is, the clubbing scene seems dominated by people from the Mediterranean Islamic countries, especially the Lebanese. Being a Syrian won't be a problem. Getting admitted without a woman will be a problem but only at certain clubs on certain nights. | 1
I largely agree with the previous post. Colour of skin is not that important. I am European and recently had problems getting into a club with another European mate because we're a bit old and have bald heads! I'm no longer an expert on the club scene but try Chi , Zinc or Elegante; you should be able to get into one of them at least. Personally, I don't go clubbing alone so not too sure how bouncers treat people trying to get in on their own. | 2
There nothing like racism or skin color difference in Dubai. I am living in Dubai since last 7 years and I have visited many discos and club but i have not found or feel any problem of racism with the local people. The people in Dubai are very friendly. In Dubai, the law are very strict , If they found someone doing something illegal, then they will take action. Each country has their own culture and ritual and if we are in the country we have to respect them. | 3
There is definitely racism floating in the air, but it's more against nationals of poor countries than based on the color of the skin alone. Make sure you dress super well and behave with confidence. Some places require a reservation and have a minimum charge that can be quite high. | 4
