hi guys.im thinking of a short break in damascus,3 or 4 days maybe.i know litle about it as yet but just wondered what your experiencs are.are the people welcoming towards wasterners,did you feel safe?how long do you need in the city to se the main sights?thanks for any help | ||
In 3 or 4 days you will get a good feel for the city, see pretty much what you want to see and will be wanting to come back soon. | 1 | |
Damascus is totally safe and totally welcoming, and has plenty to see and do. I've been to 30 foreign countries, and Syria is my favourite by a long shot. Just go; you won't be disappointed. I can't split Syria and Lebanon myself but Damascus is my favourite City anywhere and I have travelled a bit too :) I am off to Eastern Europe for three years soon, but I still spend my spare time trying to work out how I might live in Syria one day!
