Christmas in Damascus

Places holding festivities? Please let me know. I have been to George Khouri Square, Qasr and bab Touma. Christmas lights just like in Europe. i must mention the huge decorated tree at aswak alkhier in zablatani said to be the tallest in the Middle East. merry Christmas everyone, Marco.

Hope all the holidays including Eid and the Christmas was good for everyone. Its funny you mention this tree in damascus as the biggest in the middle east. We had a "tree" in Hama too also reported to be the biggest in the Middle East! I said "tree" because it was the biggest most ugly thing I had seen in a really long time! It was a metal structure draped in glittery fabric with lights on it. I must give them credit for their efforts, but it was a far cry from a real christmas tree! And certainly one not worth going out of hte way to see! LOL! Needless to say it gave my kids and I a good laugh. We enjoy see the mystified eyes of the people seeing things that have been blown out of proportion or so to say ;) Take care, I hope all of your New Years are full of blessings and enjoyments.
