I think already know the answer to this, but maybe someone has some enlightening information. I am an American passport holder, but have a foreign
residency card for another country in which I live. In that country, there is no Syrian Embassy. Am I going to have to send my passport FedEx to the US?
Or, because my case is somewhat odd, will I be able to get a visa in Beirut or at the border? The country I live in has no problem with Syria and is in Asia.

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be staying in Aleppo for about eight weeks in Dec-Jan. On a couple of occasions I'm going to need access to the Internet, but both times will quite late at night (about 11pm Aleppo time), and as I'm travelling in a group I won't be allowed to go to any Internet cafes. Our hostel doesn't have the Internet either.

Does anyone know if I can get a Syrian SIM for my mobile phone, an unlocked iPhone (through MTN or Syriatel presumably) that give me Internet access? I've…

Salam,

I am wondering what's the particularities of re-entering Syria after a 4-5 day trip to Lebanon, we are 2 people (Austrian and French citizens), I have a multiple entry visa while my friend has a single entry one only for Syria. I read that its alright to re-enter Syria but would require a new visa payment. Would it be ok to cross back at a different border in that case? (We want to do Damascus - Beirut and then Tripoli - Homs)
Also does anybody have experience or knows if its still…

Hi there, hope you can help. My partner wants to hire a car in Aleppo tour around for a few days and drive to Palmyra, perhaps taking in Saladin's Castle and of course the Crusader's castle.
Can anyone tell me if they have recently driven in Syria and what are conditions like. As a non-driver myself, I;m more than a bit nervous, but my better half is totally up for the challenge. Help please.

hello fellow travelers,

I'll be in Syria for about 5 weeks from August 2 to early Sept. I'm also going to spend a week or so in Lebanon.
RE Ramadan: As it turns out, the latter half of my vacation will be during Ramadan. So I am wondering, is everything closed during the day? Do people in the Christian sections of Syria also follow Muslim traditions? What can I expect being two to three weeks in Syria and Lebanon during Ramadan?
RE Dress Code for women: I know I have to cover up in most parts of…

Hello-

I am an American student studying in Syria with a 3 month, 2 entry visa, which will expire before my time is complete in Damascus. I would like to get another visa for the remaining time with multi-entry.

Does anyone know of the best way to obtain this?

The US embassy in Damascus has recommended that I use a service to send my passport to DC from Syria. First off, I am not even sure if this is possible to send directly to/from the US. If so, what international shipping services are…

I am very sorry to ask this, but can't find a kiwi who has recently crossed without a visa into Syria. I have read either US90 or US30. Hoping it's under US50! An Aussie guy paid US80 for a multi entry he found out once he crossed into Syria again. If you are an Aussie reading this by mistake!

As usual doing this last minute. I am hoping to cross Friday the 16 July!

I am going to be travelling overland from Adana in Turkey to Aleppo in Syria. Using the fittotravel NHS website, I see that this Turko-Syrian border region is a malaria risk area. I only plan to be in the area for the amount of time it takes to travel from one city to the other, but would I need to take malaria anti-virals? Has anyone had any experience of this personally?
