Syria

I am planning to be in Aleppo on sunday or monday night (28th or 29th september). I dont seem to be able to book online. Moreover, hotel al-Gawaher seems to be fully booked. Is it a hotel you can recommend that I can book online? If I arrive to Aleppo without accomodation do I run the risk of not having a place to sleep or of having to stay at a really expensive hotel? Where do most travellers meet? I would like a place where I could meet some travellers since I am a solo traveller.

We would like to go to Syria with out child. We have some experience of travelling in Middle East - Iran, ebanon, Turkey, but by ourselves, this will be our first time with a child. Has anyone travelled to Syria or any other country with little comfort for children with a child of this age? What are the possible dangers or problems? I suppose we'll need to take all the stuff for the kid - like dipers, clothes, etc.

Is it possible to breastfeed in Syria, maybe with a shawl?

I have been unable to access the English language section of the Syrian rail web site, and wish to know the current train schedules, traveling between Aleppo and Damascus, in BOTH directions?

Flying into Cairo mid April for 3 days before flying on to Amman Jordan. Spending 5 days around Amman and hope to head up to Damascus Syria before starting an Intredip tour.
Can I get visa's for Egypt and Jordan from the airports? - how about getting the one for Syria???

The plan now (ahem) is to go from Homs to Tripoli crossing the boarder at Aabboudiye (in mid October). Does anyone know anything about this border point crossing ? Open , safe, transport, beaurocratic etc.

I'm arriving in Damascus from Tehran on April 2, need to depart April 10 for Istanbul.( My arrival and departure dates are pretty well fixed) I would like to get recommendations for a tour co. or guide where I could see some of the main cultural/historical type sights. Except so oftenly mentioned Spring flower, is there any other accomodation option in Aleppo for under 6 euros per night? Somebody mentioned somewhere Syria hotel and that it costs 185 SYP per night, can you tell me the address of that or any other place satisfying the criteria? Thanks
