Enjoy
I need to get to Damascus airport at around 12 (midnight) for a flight departing at 3 am. For the most part, I am tired of dealing with Syrian taxi drivers. Or with taxidrivers throughout the world for that matter. Is there any option to use public transport to reach the aiport at that time tomorrow 2nd october?
If I do have to take a taxi, how much will it cost?
I just wanted to give travellers to Syria a heads up about this restaurant in Palmyra.
While the food is very good, especially the banana split pancakes, be very careful of the prices. They are subject to change depending on how much money you have or how much you look willing to pay. This applies to the internet cafe they have in back as well. While sitting at the computer we heard several different people charged a variety of prices, so make sure you get yours up front and do not go over, as…
Last week (Sept 23, 2008)I made a visit to the Amman train station, according to people no trains were running between Amman and Damascus
Hello,
My husband and I are thinking of taking his mum to Syria for a holiday next April/May - she is a Muslim and is very keen to see the mosques in Damascas and Aleppo. She is 70 and not very mobile, she can walk a little but pretty slowly. We also have a baby, who will be just over a year old then.
Our idea is to get a tailor-made trip with a private driver, and the itinerary we are thinking of is Damascus - Palmyra - Krak de Chevaliers - Hama - Aleppo. We are happy to pay a bit extra to…
i am planning a trip to syria and libanon next year.there are just a few things i want to know.
1- what is there to see and do in the 2 countries.
2- good affortable places to stay in
will appreciate all the info that i can get.
Is it possible to go to Crac des Chevaliers from Aleppo, visit during the day and then go onwards to Damascus to spend the night? Is it possible to leave my rucksack somewhere while I visit Crac? Is sept 30, oct 1 and 2 (tuesday, wednesday and friday) going to be very busy days travelling and difficult to find transport? or does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in Crac?

I am married to a Syrian national, but will not be traveling with him when I go in December. The website of the Syrian Embassy in Washington, DC states that spouses of Syrian nationals do not need visas. Can I just go, present my passport (and old one with Syrian entry stamps from 1999, photocopies of husband's passport and our marriage license) and assume that I can enter with no problem?
Thanks
Hi everyone, I am hoping for a little help planning my visit to Syria. I have around 6 days to visit Syria this coming November and would like to know realistically how much I can see without having to rush around too much, anyway here are the plans I have and perhaps I can have some suggestions to fill in the gaps?
I intend to bus it across from Amman to Damascus 19/11 and start from there, make my way up to Aleppo, leaving Aleppo flying back to Amman early 25/11 (with hopefully enough time…
Is it best to cross the border from Gaziantep to Aleppo via a direct bus if that is an option or by taxis and minibuses? How long can I expect to wait for in the border if I have to get a Syrian visa there? Is there anywhere to change money (euros or dollars) or ATM to withdraw money once you cross the border into Syria, to pay for buses and such things? Are there any special delays due to many people travelling after Ramadan?
