Hi all I'm gonna bore the pants off you all gain with a visa question that this branch is full of.

This is valid though because I'm confused as to whether I'd be granted a 14 day visa, 15 day visa or a 30 day visa once I've applied for a tourist visa at the Syrian Embassy. This of course is the days you're allowed to stay in Syria for upon entry. I have a British passport and intend to fly to Damascus directly and spend about two weeks in Syria. They will be no border crossings involved.

I…

Hello everyone,

Oh look, it's another Visa question. How exciting.Sorry!

I am a Swiss Passport holder and will be traveling through Syria on my way to Lebanon from Turkey.
I know it is possible just to get the Visa at the border but I don't really have time to faff around for days getting the right paper work from far flung embassies. Will it be less of a hassle to get the Visa before leaving? Or is it really not a big deal at the border?

Thank you for your help,
Happy travelling!
:)

Hi everyone,

A few friends and I have a few days to explore a bit of Syria, and we wanted to get some advice from those who know the country a bit. This is our scheduled itinerary:

Monday April 6th:
Leave Beirut Lebanon early in the morning, take the bus to Tripoli (Trablous) in northern Lebanon, and then take either a service taxi or the bus to Krak des Chevaliers. We hope to arrive at Krak at 1:30pm the latest and spend about 1.5 hours exploring the castle. We then want to catch a bus…

Hi all, I have read some good reviews about the al-Gawaher and emailed them to enquire about the price they quoted 600 syp a night for a single. Is this a bit high?

Thanks,

Charlie

I am returning to Syria on holiday with my family in April for the first time in 38 years (I studied Arabic in Damascus in 1972-3)
I lost contact wirth my friends. It will be hard to find the ones who came from large towns (mostly Jebbleh).
One girl, _Nibal Hanna_ from Mashta el Hulw, might be easier to trace as her family come from what was a small village and is now a larger tourist town, Neebal would be about 57 now and was studying English literature at Damascus University when I was there…

Hi everyone,
Heard from my travel agent today. I am South African. Applied for a Syrian visa and now need proof of exactly when I'm entering and leaving. ie Proof of bus or train ticket (is this possible) and also hotel bookings. I don't have a credit card. Anyone have any suggestion please help. I'm desperate at this point. I need to renew my Turkish visa by 1st June.
Thanks

By a twist of events, I am planning to go to the Middle East on short notice, leaving on the 13th of April. I need to go ahead and book a ticket to get a good deal, but the only variable is that I don't have a Syrian tourist visa yet. I am in Washington DC at the moment - would I be able to get a visa by the 12th of April?

Hi,

I'm flying into Damascus in a few days time... How much should a taxi cost from the airport to the centre of Damascus?

Will I find any ATMs in Damascus, Palmyra, Hama and Aleppo that accept American Express, Visa or Mastercard.

Thanks

Hi all

We are travelling to Syria in May and after spending two nights in Palmyra we are traveling to Hama to spend a few days there. We want to do a day trip to Krak Des Chevaliers from Hama early in the morning before the tour groups & for the best light for photography, is it probable? Or is it better to do go from Homs? If from Hama does anyone know how long & how much?

Thanks
