Hi everyone,

Very aware of the whole visa issue. In October I plan to fly into Syria, travel through Jordan, then to Israel, and fly out of Tel Aviv.

On the website of the Syrian embassy in London it asks to include your employer's name and contact details. Is that really necessary? Why do they need that info? If I say the purpose of my visit is tourism is there any way I can get away with not putting my employer's details?

Would be grateful of any assistance. Am a big fan of the Middle East but really want to finish my trip in Israel.

Thanks

My theory is that this is to prove that you are genuinely resident in the country.

Just do a quick search of the forum: This question, and variants on it, has been asked and answered many times before.

Clearly it depends on the applicants date of birth, but if you are able to, simply declare you are retired.

Or alternatively a student at a small local vocational college if you are young enough.
