I am plannning to cross the iraqui kurdistan from iran to syria by motorbike.
does somebody knows if it is possible to cross the boarder from the iraqi kurdistan to syria by land ? second question : do i need to make a syrian visa or can i get it at the boarder ?

I remember being told that the border between Syria and Iraq is not a part controlled by the Kurdistan Regional Government. You would then have to pass through non-Kurdish regions, increasing the risk significantly.
As a general rule, Syria issues visa on the border for citizens of countries where Syria does not have an embassies. So, as a holder of a Danish passport I have never had problems getting my visa on the border (no Syrian embassy in Denmark), whereas a holder of a Swedish passport needs to arrange the visa in advance (there is a Syrian embassy in Sweden).
