I am aghast at all these comments against the food there. I went to syria, had every possible type of local delicacy and was absolutely ok. The shawarmas are fine because they are hot. In the Middle East in general, I would avoid the hummus because it is a cold preparation.

And yes, your baby will be welcomed and you'll have a wonderful time.

:D Now you missed a true delicacy--the hummus. I highly recomend this anywhere, its semi cold, but obviously the beans have to be cooked! Anyhow, hummus is a daily prepared item and if your in a good place thats clean you should have no worries, hummus is one of the best baby foods around! We live on the stuff! And definately Feta Hummus is worth hunting down for breakfast before you leave! We all definately have our likes and dislikes dont we? :D

Take care

Aisha

You will be perfectly safe, but negotiating pavements and historic sites with a stroller/pushchair will be very difficult.
