Hey guys,

I am trying to find out some information for my Syrian Visa application.

Which border with Lebanon is the most frequently used and whats it's name?
Are those borders open again?

I want to travel from Beirut or possibly further north to Syria and then head to Palmyra.

Are there regular bus services or is it better to go by shared taxi or something?

Heading from Beirut towards Damascus youll cross the border at Masnaa, which is the most frequently used one. Another one is Qaa heading towards Homs, but its not very much frequented. The third- and I believe last - is heading North towards Tartous. With the last one Ive personally no experience. Qaa is out of the way -- so a shared taxi to Damascus and than taking a bus to Tadmor (=Palmyra) should be the easiest option - Masnaa should be your choice. But dont worry if you change your mind -- the question in the application form is quite senseless - you can take the border crossing of your choice.
