Hi I'm currently in Jordan and will be heading up to Syria in 10 days or so.
I will need to spend 10 days to 2 weeks in Damascus as I'm collecting three visa's there. Can anyone reccomend budget accomodation that offers good rates for longer stays, also what would be the cost of hiring an apartment for a couple of weeks and does anyone have any links.

renting an apartment can be expensive it depends on the aria you are going to stay in. in the old city if you rent a room it will cost round 210$ a month.
i know Alrabi hotel cost less not sure about the price but around 20$. but you might have a joint bathroom not sure though.

When I stayed in Al Haramain (next to Al Rabie) it was about 5USD for a dorm room. The only weblink I could find says 7USD for a single but I'd doubt that's up-to-date.

It's a great location.
By the way, Damascus is wonderful, but I hope you plan to see more of the country after you collect your visas!
