Hello,

I know that GPS devices are illegal to have in Syria and Egypt, but I'm wondering if an Apple iPhone is ok to bring in to those countries? I ask because the new iPhones have GPS capabilities. Even if my phone doesn't work in Syria or Egypt, I will be in multiple countries during my trip and would like to have my phone with me, but I obviously don't want to get arrested in Syria or Egypt if they consider it illegal.

Any information is greatly appreciated,
Jason

Thanks. So if I bring my iphone with me, is it the type of thing that if a taxi driver or someone in a restaurant or hotel sees it, I will get trouble?
