Is there any place with public access to the Internet in Palmyra?

By the way, are there direct buses to Hama? At what time? From where? If not, I guess there will be minibuses to Homs.

Is there any possibility of getting to Qalaat al Hosn straight from Palmyra or you have to change at Homs?

Thanks for your help, guys.

Went there in july. There was only one internet place, and it was never working. There are some hotels and restaurants that have the access, but you have to count on the kindness of the owner.

I know that there are buses from Homs to Palmyra (they say Tadmor). And that there are buses from Hama to Homs, or you can take a taxi. I arranged an "excursion" at my hotel from Hama to Krak des Chevaliers and the guy dropped me of at the Homs bus station at the end, and I went to Palmyra.

Hope to have been of any help.

I think you have to change in Homs for any kind of public transport to either Qalat al-hosn or Hama, if things haven't improved recently.

It had not improved by October- there was only one place- and the internet did not work.

When we were in Palmyra in march we used internet access in a restaurant called something like "Pancake House". It worked all right.

We were just in Palmyra- public Internet is available at the back of the Traditional Palymra Restaurant which is at N34.55558, E038.2764 (just copy and paste this decimal degree location into Google Earth- there is a high resolution image available for Palmyra). This is just east of the main square and post office and across the street from the Tower Hotel. The Internet is a bit slow, but quite workable for email. The staff is really friendly and the restaurant good- although maybe a bit pricey for budget travelers. Start with the vegetable or lentil soup- excellent!

The Traditional Palymra Restaurant also has excellent crepes (which they call pancakes)- which is why some people call it the Pancake House.
