Hello travel folks !

I am going tp Syria in february and i already applied for the m- e- visa. The visa says that it allows a stay of 15 days.
does anyone know, whether the duration of these 15 days starts each time when entering syria again, or do i have 15 days for all my stays ( with entering again ) ?

e.g. arrival on 15th, out to jordan on 20th ( 15 days - 5 days = 10 days left when coming back to syria )
or: arrival on 15th, out to jordan on 20th ( another 15 days when coming back to syria )

can anyone tell me how it works, i havent found info about this question in the net so far !

thanks

daniel

Each entry gives you a new 15 days, which is extendable. The visa is valid for entry up to 3 months from the date of issue, I believe.

Just to confirm #2, we wasted a lot of time on trying to renew our visas, when after 14 days we were off to Jordan and back. When we found the right office we were told it wasn't necessary.

15 days has been extended to 30 days before you need to renew a visa - they just haven't changed the visa stamps.
If you want to renew at any time, DO wait until you've been there about 27-8 days, otherwise they'll just tell you to come back closer to the time.

Please, when you post visa queries or answers, state your country-of-passport, because your experiences may vary depending on what passport you have.

I carry a US passport. My original visa, obtained in the US, would run out just about 15 days after I entered Syria, so I went to get a visa extension this morning in Aleppo. I needed 4 passport photos, 25 SP, and (here's the kicker) a form from my hotel. The form is a card a little smaller than half the size of a standard sheet of Syrian paper, and is all in Arabic. Ask your hotel for a form BEFORE you go to the passport office to save yourself some grief. If they show you a full-sized sheet of paper, that's not the right form.

Once I had the form from the hotel, it was fairly straightforward to get the visa extension.

With a Norwegian passport in 2005 it was 30 days, every entry, in effect (except, once at the lebanon border the officials made problems, pretending it was 15 days) and for 6 months.
