I need to fly Damascus to Tehran on a Friday in May 2008. I'm having trouble finding info on the net and a travel agent has quoted me $Aus 648 for a one way trip with Iran Air. Are there other cheaper alternatives?

When in Damascus you can buy a return ticket to Tehran for under USD 300 (will take you to the local agent)or you can take a train to Tehran via Turkey for around USD 60 on way it takes 3 days just like the indian pacific in australia from perth to Sydney in 3 days but it is not a luxury train to Tehran.

Thanks for the info. Because I am starting a tour in Iran on 17 May I need to be sure I can get a flight damascus to tehran on 16 May. (I don't have time for the train.) Is it possible to book a fare like the one you mentioned in advance? I only need a one way ticket, not return.
