Hi there,

Has anyone been cycling in Syria over the Christmas fortnight? Say, from Damascus to Palmyra, then Aleppo? With just two weeks I'd hope to balance some decent cycling with the time to dawdle in a few places rather than rush through - is this possible?

I'd be grateful for any suggestions,

grant087...... Welcome to the Thorn Tree. I have been to Syria and I do cycle. But have never been cycle-touring in Syria, the road surfaces are generally very good though. Try posting your message/question on another section of the Thorn Tree, called ''On Your Bike'.' Hopefully you will get plenty of responses. Alternatively try the UK's Cyclist Touring Club web site.
