Hi all
I'm currently planning a trip for myself and a friend, both UK citizens. We plan to cross into Syria from Turkey by bus.
Is it possible to get a Visa on the border? Does anyone have any recent experience with this?
Any info/advice would be great!

p.s. yes, I have searched the forums, but nothing recent seems to answer this specific question for a UK passport holder. It seems that it IS possible to get a Visa at the border...I guess my main point is how reliable would this be? As it would be essential for me to enter Syria as I plan on either flying out of Damascus back to the UK, or out of Beirut.
As always any responses would be much appreciated!

The posts you read are pertient to almost all western passport holders, the only exception being US Americans which can also get one but tend to have to wait a bit longer.

You can get visa upon arrival to Syrian border either you are travelling by bus or car

I´m french and i am in bulgaria at the moment, my plan is to cross turkey and go to Syria. I called both the syrian embassy´s in Sofia and Ankara, and they say it is not possible to get a visa if you´re not a resident in a given country. I have searched through the whole blog and it seems to be possible to get a visa at the border close to Allepa and eventually at other border crossings. Is this true?, and if so should i maybe rather go at certain houers, better by bus or taxi?
It would be really helpfull to get a definate answer.

if you go by bus it will not wait for you to get visa so be prepared to wait another bus taxi will come along one will come I waited at the border a few hours for my visa US passport I had a lot of offers for transport to Allepo be patient and enjoy the experience

I am headıng that way myself.. I am ın Istanbul at the moment and wıll be gettıng a bus ın a few days to antakya and wıll get a taxı or bus from there and try to get a vısa on te border. what questıons dıd they ask you etc?
any help from anyone would be much apprecıated.

they ask you the same questions that are on the syrina visa application
also the name of the hotel you will be staying at so know the name of one you may also want to consider staying at that hotel some people here say that they check on it
from antakya take the bus there will be a tout there to get you on bus then follow post # 6
