we just got home from syria, what a fantastic trip we had.. we really feel like we have to share this great experience and tell the whole world that syria might be one of the very best destinations ever.. get loaded with cultural impressions, souq ambiances, astonishing sites discoveries, chilling shischa-nights, super food... and syrian people are so nice and make you feel so welcome....
thanks to you guys from mytrip-syria.. you have been so great.. hope to see you soon again..

so, however is still searching for the right destination: syria will not disappoint you!! you will love it!!

I'm going to be in Syria next month, so this all sounds good.

Only going to Damascus and south of there, like Fijeh, Bosra and the Yarmuk Gorge. Most of the rest of the tour is in Jordan.

Have you any thoughts on the best guide-book?

Mike: The Footprint guide, although it's out of date and out of print now. LP is the next best, IMHO. The merits of various guides were discussed a while back - just plug 'Bradt' and 'Footprint' into the forum search.

Thanks SPDL. Lonely Planet is usually my first port of call, but I'll have a check on the others.
