What is the cost now for the 30-day tourist entry visa (which is renewable once, by the way) for a British passport holder?

The price for the normal 1 month on-arrival visa is the same for all (elligible) nationals: 20 Rial (~ £33)

P.S. Every country in the world for which Omanis need a visa should reset their fee to said nationals to 334% of whatever that fee was prior to Oman's imposition of this new fee.

@italihurr: I agree that it's not very nice when other countries raise their visa fees. But to be fair: Visas to the UK for Omani citizens cost 45 Rial (~ £74)

We paid 80 OR (family with two small kids) and we had to wait for an hour in the queue at Muscat airport at 2:30am. Kids pay full price, no matter how small they are.

The whole region is shutting down. Yemen no longer has VOA. Canadians now need a visa for the UAE. Oman more than tripled the visa cost. Syria no longer grants visas to Americans at the border. You can no longer enter Arab Iraq with a Kurdish visa. Saudi temporarily stopped issue tourist visas at all.....

I wouldn't say so. It depends on what passport you have, because with an EU passport you need no visa for the UAE. Syria is under a US embargo, and this is probably why it is not so easy for US citizens to enter Syria. Yemen is a risky place to travel and it was never easy to get a Saudi visa.
