Hi Guys
Can any one tell me if there is reliable public transport from theMuscat bus station (coming from Dubai with ONTC) to the main port (Al mina Rd, fish round-about area)? I would prefer this option than a taxi. If this is not possible how much would a taxi be?
Thanks a bunch

To be honest the words reliable, public & transport dont really belong together in a conversation about Muscat. Most public transport in the city is done by taxi, with minibuses taking over the city-city transport routes. There are minibuses running inside the city, but they aren't on a set schedule and I have no idea where to look for the route you want - you'd have to ask around at the bus station to see where to find one that is heading down into Muttrah Corniche.

For a short trip like this I'd recommend a taxi. Depending on your nationality / appearance and your haggling skills, you could probably expect to pay from 1 - 4 OR. If you're white / european looking, I'd say 2 OR is the cheapest you'll manage, with 3 OR being more likely.
