Yes, the second part of my question didn't make sense.

The only common visa scheme area I can think of off the top of my head is the EU.
I guess I don't get why they make you travel directly to Oman, and if you arrive late at night to Dubai, are there buses round the clock to get to Oman?.

Sorry its also not yet really clear in my mind. It says after arrival at dubai airport, i have to go directly to oman to save the money for visa right (i want to go by land)? Or would it be allowed to go to oman after 1-2 days in dubai and then still get to oman without paying for a visa? I think thats why otabe asked if there is a bus at night right.

You have to go directly from Dubai to Oman - either by flying Dubai to Muscat or by crossing at Hatta. If you fly via any other airport or cross elsewhere the Oman visa isn't free. You can remain in Dubai for any number of days before going to Oman, but your Dubai stamp must still be valid once you reach Oman.

george5, are you sure about that? Last I heard, the Dubai visa had to still be valid for 20-25 days (forget exactly) when arriving in Oman.
