hi. can anyone recommend a good trekking company in the mountains of oman? we haven't decided on which area we'd like to to, finding a good but not very expensive company is more important to us. thanks.

I can put you in touch with 2 Omani trekking guides - both used to work for various companies and are now freelancing. One works on Jebel Akhdar, the other also Jebel Akhdar, Jebel Shams (I think) and he also does the hike across the mountains from Wadi Bani Khalid to Tiwi/Wadi Shab. The companies are all quite expensive, but you might prefer to take a package like that.
I have met both these guides through friends and they are both lovely guys who I would not have any hesitation in recommending. They will not harass you or behave inappropriately and at least one of them has a trekking licence.
