I currently have a Skouda. I was wondering if I will have any issues visiting the Burial Tombs in Bat, Oman. Ive conflicting reports as you may not need but others have said you dont. Can anyone please confirm?
Please and thanks!

Not 100% matching your question, but tombs near to nearby Al Ayn can easily be reached by car. It's just a 5 minutes walk from the asphalt road. No signboards anywhere, though which is sad.
I went to the area by car en route from Muscat to Dubai but didn't find the tombs in Bat quickly - again, the absence of signboards being the problem.

You do not need 4WD. There is an asphalt road to Al Ayn and another one to Bat. Now there is even one asphalt road connecting both sites.

no you dont need 4x4 to visit them...i was working as a tour guide there once with group of people, we had small microbus and when i talked with driver he told me, we can try to go there and we did...the road is not very good, sometimes we had to cross very slowly, but it is okay with car :)
