Hi all,

I hope there is someone that can shed some light on this topic. I am a South African citizen in the process of applying for a Lebanese visa to go on holiday next year. I have met the requirements of providing the paperwork for duly filled in applciation form, accommodation & return airfare. I understand there needs to be an approval from Lebanon to issue the visa. The emabssy has now come back to me stating I need an invitation letter from the General Security of Lebanon. Now im confused....

I have searched the internet high and low to find out about this invitation letter from the General Security of Lebanon. I know you need an invitation letter from a host or in you are going for business, but have not found anything about an invitation lette from the General Security.

I hope some who has been through the process can shed some light on my prediciment, as this is the final piece of the puzzle for me to get the tourist visa.

Many thanks...

Hi,
I just flew into Beruit and the guy looked thru my passport and stamped it and I was in.
As far as I know, you do not need a visa if your stay is less than 30 days and you are a tourist.
They do check for Israel stamps.

#1 are you S. African? S. Africa isn't listed in the nationalities who obtain free visa on arrival.

OP maybe you can email a hotel or travel agent in Lebanon to see if they can help you arrange this.

Thanks for the replies.

Guess I will email the hotel and see if I can arrange anything through them. The embassy told me the other day that the host can apply for a visa on my behalf.

Have come to the conclusion that the embassy in SA can't issue tourist visa's cause I met all the requirements.
