I'm planning to visit Lebanon in say September/October next year. My approach for Middle East visits over the past few years has been to travel via organised tours by the likes of Explore! and Exodus (not very adventurous, maybe, but it has suited me).

If I visit Lebanon, I want to see Tyre. I'm aware that Tyre is off-limits according to government travel advice in some countries, but also (from reading other threads) that safety is a relative issue and that plenty of people have visited Tyre without a problem.

My question is, does anyone know of companies running tours to Lebanon which include Tyre? Alternatively, if that's not possible, what's the best way of visiting Tyre? Stay on in Lebanon and hire a taxi for the day?

Grateful thanks for guidance. I'm based in the UK.

Thee are many buses and shared taxis between Beirut - Saida - Tyr. Absolutely no problem!
