Hi Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your answers to my previous questions. Just one more quick inquiry. We will be in Beirut over Lebanese Independence Day on Nov 22. Is this a significant holiday for the Lebanese? I have been in some countries where independence day passes without notice and others where independence day is actually independence week full of drink and chaos. What can I expect in Beirut and is there anything not to miss?

Thanks!

All businesses are closed, except the entertainment businesses.
Independence day is mostly celebrated within the family.
You might see some helicopters passing over throwing flags.

Try to avoid the central district. Find out where the military parade is and avoid going there at all costs. It's not something for the public to watch.

All in all it passes quite unnoticed/uncelebrated.
