Hi,

I'm doing a trip around Syria and Lebanon in December, starting and ending in Beirut (EU passport). I know that VOA are available at Beirut airport - but how about the land borders - is this fuss-free in practice? I don't know how many days I'll stay on the way back, so tourist visa is fine.
Or can I get a double entry visa at Beirut airport?

Cheers!

Totally fuss-free to get them at land borders - can't remember if it was a multiple-entry visa we got there (or if you can get them at the airport), but even if they aren't available of course you can just get another one on the way back. I guess it's worth asking about multi-entry at the airport because you could save some cash that way. It's very straightforward with an EU passport - as long as you aren't wearing your "I love Israel" T-shirt there'll be no problems.

A quick question - at the Damascus to Beirut route border crossing is there a fee for the visa on an US passport? Also does Syria charge a departure tax?

it was not much of a visa to speak of just a stamp.

make sure you have multi entry to get back to syria or plane ticket out not possible to get voa any more for us passport.

je55689, I do have a mutiple entry visa for Syria. I have heard that a 1 month visa to Lebanon is free for US nationals...just wanted to clarify that.

Hi all,

urgent question on going the other way around -- I am in Lebanon in the days ahead, want to get a SYRIAN visa at the Leb border (Beirut-Damascus rd), for a brief visit (flying in/out from Beirut). I have an EU passport.

Will this be possible/difficult? I know it has been impossible at times in the past, but I heard things had changed. Must make a decision soon, so any quick info on the current situation will be much appreciated.

Thanks!
