Hey,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Lebanon for Mid-Nov (during Eid Al-Adha), and we have been trying to keep an eye on the situation in Lebanon. Apparently there was a clash in Beirut in the past few days between a crowd of women and UN investigators. Also on Google News there are a lot of rhetoric from Hezbollah against the UN tribunal. I'm wondering if anyone who's either currently living in Lebanon or have experience living/travelling in Lebanon can give us some advice.

Thanks

I am watching that too. I am thinking of going there in two weeks. I have decided to make a quick visit in my car. Using my car would be, I think, safer. I mean if the political situation tumbles suddenly, I would hit the road north at once. If you are determined to go, I would advice you to prepare contingency plans. Lebanon taught us how stability could vanish quickly.

I assume you are in Lebanon by now.
I am planning on being in Beirut for New Years eve for a week, but I am concerned about the tension of the UN tribunal situation, or at least what I gather from the online news.
What is the real situation?

I have read the the verdict my come in December or January, but I have not found any specifics on the date.
I am wondering if I should just cancel my Lebanon part of the trip and go somewhere else ( I am going to Turkey and Syria first)
Any information would be greatly appreciated
