I was recently travelling in Lebanon for 10 days and I wanted to pass on some info to those planning to visit. Lebanon itself is a fantastic destination and has a bit of something for everybody. In Beirut though if anyone is looking for a great place to stay which is very affordable check out Saifi Urban Gardens (http://www.saifigardens.com/) in the eastern part of the city called Gemayze. It is directly behind the Charles Helou Bus station and the place is a gold mine with some of the most comfortable hostel beds I have ever slept in. a bed was 18$ per night which includes breakfast. It's safe and conveniently located and the guys who run the place are real salt of the earth types. The place doesn't dissapoint.

Did you book via their webpage? Their webpage asks for credit card details and redirects to an Australian webpage. I would feel more comfortable without giving the card info. Do they also accept bookings by e-mail?

I booked online and it was all on the up and up. They only charged the deposit to my card and I paid the difference while I was there. They were a bit rigid with their booking policies with me. I looked for another way around paying with my card. In the end though aall went through without any problems.
