If i want to see Beirut from Damascus for a 2 day trip of less than 48 hours.
Will the 48 hour transit visa suffice at the border ? Or do i need to get a multiple entry visa ?
Thanks for any info.

7samurai....... When you apply for your Syrian visa (in advance) in your home country, you can request a multiple-entry visa. Yes, you will be given a 48 hour Lebanese transit visa free of charge on arrival, at the Lebanese / Syrian land border (Masnaa border crossing).

when you enter Lebanon from the land border crossing, you MIGHT get a 48 hours transit visa free of charge
in my experience, me and my friends, in various trips, have been denied the 48 hours visa and had buy the visa for the whole week unless we had proof that we were flying out of Beirut.

My experience was the Lebanese transit visa was offered to me, and I accepted it graciously. I understood the Lebanese 15 day visa charge was 25,000LL and for 30 day visa stay 50,000LL
Equally I was not asked for a Syrian departure tax on exiting to the Lebanese border, but did have to pay the Syrian departure tax when exiting by land into Jordan. Hope you enjoy both countries.
