For those who have been to both places, if your best friend only had time for one of these sites, which would you suggest? I will be in Jordan and Egypt and could squeeze a quick trip to Damascus and Palmyra but it would mean rushing a bit. The pictures of both places look wonderful...
hi,
are there any other reliable car rental firms in Wadi Mousa beside Hertz? We'll be in Petra for two days in late April and want to visit Dana and drive the Kings Highway afterwards. So we would like to rent a car in Wadi Mousa and return it in Aquaba three or four days later. Any suggestions and / or web adresses?
thx
I'm drawing my own map of Jordan this days. in my mind, time is always against the traveler, since there is never enough. I've red most of the topics here, a lot of web pages, both official and personal (some of them very good indeed) and I've found a lot of answers. here is my schedule:
* Monday: early departure from Amman, drive all day on King's Highway to Petra; stops at the Dead Sea, Karak and Wadi Mujib (to see the canyon) - optional Dana, if the time allows; arrive in the evening on…Hi all.
First, excuse my english, it's not always at his best, but I hope still understandable (I'm from Belgium and french speaker).
I'll be in Jordan from 12th to 22th march. I've looked around for information and have tried to organise my trip.
Take a look please:
Day 1: Transfert from airport to Madaba
Day 2: Madaba, Nebo mount and dead sea
Day 3: Leaving Madaba to Petra via Kerak and Wadi Mujib
Day 4: Petra
Day 5: Petra
Day 6: Bus to Wadi Rum, day and night in Wadi Rum
Day 7: Coming back to…
Hi all,
surfing the web I´ve found the web page of this jordanian TO: Atlastour, http://www.atlastours.net/offers.html
They offer a week throughout Jordan (8 days, 7 nights) for $ 430.
The price looks reasonable to me, do you think it´s ok, or it´d be 50% cheaper organizing it on my own?
Visited places are:
Amman
'Umm Quais
Ajloun
Jerash
Desert castles
Madaba
Mount Nebo
Kerak
Pedra
Wadi Rum
Any help is highly appreciated

I'm just wondering how easy it is to meet other backpackers in Jordon? I am planning a trip on my tod and am wondering if travelling life over there is conducive to making some new mates?!
We'll be in Jordan for 5-6 days and we'd like to keep it as mobile as possible. I'm seeking guidance in finding the right car rental company. Surfing the net, www.montecar.com kept my attention. any reviews regarding this guys? or some other company? any hints at all?

I am a young Australian woman travelling through Egypt, Jordan, Syria and .... this April/May/June with some friends and family but will be alone for some sections of my travel.
In particular I am travelling alone from Cairo to Amman in Jordan and would like to do this trip overland/sea.
Have any other women done this trip alone and how safe did you feel? Any tips?
Cheers
Unlike my Egypt trip report - I really AM going to keep this brief and put the link to the blog up first - lots of photos and detail on the blog, which should be final in the next couple of days

Hi,
I have 7 days in Jordan in April. I am having a difficult time planning an itenarary. It sounds like most people prefer to begin in Madaba (hard to make reservations for my dates) and work south, leaving Amman for last. I would like to see Petra, Dead Sea, Mt. Nebo, Aqaba, and Jerash. What are travel times between most major sites? I realize this is a bit vague but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
