There is still one question left for me: Do I need a warm sleeping bag to bring with me?
I always travel with my thin silk inlet sleeping bag. And I guess that's sufficient for hotels. But I also plan to stay one or two nights at Wadi Rum and I have no idea, if tour operators provide me with a blanket or if there are permanent tents where blankets are available. I want to avoid carrying a havy sleeping bag…

Hello, I read elsewhere on this forum that LP's info on bus stations is out of date, so could someone please confirm that if I want to take a service taxi from Amman to Damascus in October that I should go to the Abdali bus station in Amman?

I'm going to be in Jordan (and southern Syria) later next month (September) for the first time. I've got a number of visible facial piercings, labrets, bridge, plus multiple ears, including 20mm plugs.

Does anyone have thoughts or experience as to how acceptable these will be in the Arab world?

I can remove some of them temporarily, but preferably not all, as I've had them for years and they are essentially part of "me".

2. Does JETT bus have an afternoon trip going to Wadi Musa? Or any other minibuses?

3. What time is the last trip of JETT Bus in the afternoon going back from Wadi Musa to Amman?

Anyone able to share any information on getting to Qasr Burqu in the eastern desert of Jordan?

Given that the area around it is proposed as one of the new nature reserves, I was hoping that travel restrictions might have been eased, but I'm getting nowhere even finding a private driver to go there.

I would like to stay in Jordan a bit longer than typical vacation to learn Arabic, or at least to start the process to make it easier to continue on my own upon returning back home. Is one month a sufficient time for this? I am looking for more of an "immersion" experience, although living with a Jordanian family may not be possible for cultural reasons... any suggestions as far as what type of accommodation, and activities would be most suitable for this purpose? We are in Jordan from 28/08 to 11/09 (in Ramadan) and we are going to do the route: Amman - Jerash - Ajlun - Death Sea - Mt Nebo - Madaba - Kerak - Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba.

We wanna take Bus, minibus, (service)taxi's..
Will it be dificult to do our route by public transport?
Does anyone has suggestions?
I'm a bit concerned about the king's Highway. If bus is difficult, can we easily hire a service taxi? do you know adresses or phone numbers from a good driver who does the king's highway…

Please, do someone know if in Movepick and Marriot Hotels in Dead Sea, the access to the private beach is include in the room price o you have to pay extra money for the beach?
