Hi there,
I am traveling to Jordan and Israel and I am trying to organise my trip and would like your advise.
I am arriving to Amman airport at 8 pm on Thursday 21st of June and then I am planning to stay that night in Amman. The next day I am not sure if it would be worth to stay in the morning in Amman and then take a Bus to Petra around noon. Otherwise I will take the bus at 6.30 to Petra. what would you recommend me to do?
Any advise of where to stay in Amman?

I want to stay the weekend at…

Hi fellow travelers,

I am based in Abu Dhabi (UAE) , and planning a quick trip to Jordan this Friday (8th June, 2012) till 11th June.

Day 2 (9 June 2012) Amman Hotel – Madaba – Nebo – Kerak – Petra Hotel + o/n

Hi everyone,

After some ideas from this board and some research I've a new itinerary. I do however have some questions:

Basically I've been to Jordan and this time I'm taking my mother, but this time I've got a few days. What we do know is:

  • We have no issue with getting a car and driver.

  • We understand we have a short time, but we really only want to see: Deadsea, Jerash Petra, wadi-Rum and Madaba.

  • The main problem is the first and second day.

So what we have…

Yesterday we have ben to this site. It promised far more than it showed.. A religious feeling, a tour of 1,5 hour? A jungle like in Asia? Far from it! We were rushed - the only thing the guide said to us was: hurry, hurry. At the Israelian side people were praying and baptizing. And of course it is bizar to see Israeli's at a distance of 5 meter! with their buildings at their side of the Jordan River. The guide was obviously only interested in 2 things: how do I get as soon as possible with…

My wife and I will be part of a tour of Israel beginning January 1, 2013. However, we are thinking of flying into Amman, Jordan a day or so early so we can see Petra. I am an American citizen, but have never traveled to the Middle East. Where do we begin this process? Since Jordan is not a part of the tour package, we will be on our own until we meet up with the group in Tel Aviv.

If we fly into Jordan and spend a night or two there, what do we need to do in preparation (visas, etc.)? Also, how…

Hi All,

I've asked around and got conflicting reports on what type of shoes to wear to Jordan and Egypt. I plan on doing a lot of exploring on foot in Amman, Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Petra, Sinai, Cairo, and perhaps Luxor. Some have said regular sneakers will be fine and others hiking boots. All I have at the moment are running sneakers and desert combat boots. I feel neither are appropriate.

The environment will be very hot and vary from urban to rough steep terrain. I've had the Adidas Ax 1 Lea…
