Hi all,

In September we (young couple) will be spending a week in Jordan. This is our preliminary itinerary: your advice, do's & don'ts and tall tales will be very much appreciated!

Sunday (day 1): arrive @ Queen Alia airport, pick up rental car, stay overnight in Madaba/(Amman?)
Monday (day 2) Wadi Mujib Canyon (wet) Hike, stay overnight at RSCN Cabin
Tuesday (day 3) Drive to Wadi Musa / Petra, visit Petra at night
Wednesday (day 4) Visit Petra
Thursday (day 5) Wadi Rum track (stay in desert…

I am a Canadian journalist that will be traveling to Jordan with my boyfriend in mid September for 10 days. I have never been to the Middle East before so I have been doing some research on what is acceptable for western women to wear there and what's not. Does anyone have any tips?

I will have very limited time in Jordan,about 2-3 days and would like to just go to Petra.Is there a bus that goes straight to Petra from the airport?If not what would be the best way to reach Petra?
How is the weather in Petra mid sept?
My LL Jordan is really old(never got to go!!I'm hoping to visit sometime in the future but right now it is my only chance to see Petra!,any other advice on Petra would be greatly appreciated(accommodation,etc..)

Does anyone know if the border crossing between Egypt and Jordan at Aqaba is closed due to the recent events in Sinai? I planned to travel to Dahab and then ferry over to Jordan in the next few days but some have told me that the border is closed? Thanks.

I am planning a Jerash/Israel border crossing THIS Thursday/Friday and would appreciate your advice on my plan and a few particular questions:

1. How may Ramadan affect my plan, specifically in terms of availability of minibuses to/from Irbid and Jerash/Ajlun/Umm Qais? I have lived in the GCC countries, so I am familiar with shops being closed, no public eating, etc during the day.

2. How early does the Sheikh Hussein border crossing open on a Friday morning during Ramadan?

Hello, I know that this topic has been posted about but as far as I can see only ever in reverse, visiting Jerusalem from Amman.

I'm in Jerusalem this week. I've been 6 months ago and covered most of the sights and while I'm here again I'd love to visit Jordan even if very briefly. I cannot stay overnight in Jordan as I'm here accompanying my boyfriend for work and he can't come with me. Not ideal but there you go.

Hello people,

I have randomly decided to go to Jordana nd Israel to add some of the middle east to my been-there-done-that list. I am flying into Amman, Jordan mid November then flying out of Tel Aviv, Israel at the end of November.

Although I'm happy to be a single, female traveller on local buses I think it would be really awesome to hire a car or something and just go get lost. I was wondering if anyone else likes that idea and would want to come join me for 2 weeks?
