We will be in Jordan in the middle of June. After a day or two in Aqaba we'll go to Wadi Rum (and then Petra and then northward) in a rented car.

How hot will it be in June? And is it advisable to do the overnight-in-a-tent desert experience then? One friend said she was told by a Jordanian guide that flies are terrible in the desert at that time. Just do the jeep trip, he said. Who has experience with Wadi Rum at that time who can offer an opinion?

Thanks.

lol, if you stay in a clean camp then there will be some files but not too many. The flies sleep in the night anyway so if you miss anything then it should be the jeep tour ; )
I really would recommend sleeping in the desert. It is very beautiful and the stars and the moon are an unforgettable experience. At the moment I am every night sleeping outside and it is magical. In June it should be no more than 37-38 in temperature. Oh also it is dry in June so not many mosquitoes.
I would recommend doing your tour with Zedane Al Zalabieh you can e-mail him on zedn_a@yahoo.com
his camp is in a really good spot and he will look after you very well.
