Hello,

I'm planning to stay for a night in Umm Qais hotel in the first week of June mostly because of my late arrival in Umm Qais. Has anyone stayed here? Are there any rooms with the view of overlooking Golan heights, Sea of Guililee? I know there is a roof top that has a view but how about rooms?

Also, If I stay here overnight, can I go to the view point at the ruin before it opens or after it closes? Because the site opens at 8 AM, we would have gone by then. If I go to the ruin before it opens, then I can enjoy the sunrise and spent some more time and leave by 7.30 or so. It is not that I'm trying avoid paying 1JD for entrance fees, it is just that I don't have time to stay after 8 AM.

Your comments are appreciated.

I will be in that area on assignment during the next few weeks and might stay there for a night. If so, I will let you know.
From experience getting access after/before hours might be able through some informal contacts. Just talk to the guards and smile.

Unlikely that you can do this from the hotel. The view on Lake Tiberias will be blocked.
Early entrance is not possible, the site opens at 8am.

To enjoy the views I suggest you drive down the road towards al Hamma a bit and do some shooting from there.
Another viewpoint you can find on the left of the site. Standing facing the sight, go left, take the first right after the site. Not sure if there are any check points there.
