When I was there, I used a minibus (Hiace style) to Shuneh al-Janubiyyeh, and from there (South Shuna), I used a new one on the way to Suweimeh. I asked to be dropped near the sea shore.
I had hitching on the way back but you can also use Hiace or other public transport.
If it's not a direct one, you will change when it will stop and you take an other one to reach the capital city.
Most of people in Jordan don't have a private transport and use shared/public transports. You will do the same...

A taxi on the street from Amman perhaps 20 to 25 JD, negotiate and ask several drivers to get a feel of the right price. Expect to pay more for a taxi booked through a hotel.
