Hi all,
I'm heading out to Jordan for 10 days at the end of September/October. We fly in about 8pm on Tuesday night and are picking up a rental car at the airport. At the moment the plan is to head to Amman (Hisham Hotel) for the Tuesday night and spend Wednesday morning looking around Amman before driving down to Aqaba that afternoon (Our Wadi Rum adventure starts very early Thursday morning!).
The hotel is around the embassy district, but I wondered how bad traffic would be in that area? The evening may not be so bad, but we would want to leave about 2/3pm on the Wednesday to get to Aqaba before too late.
I do want to spend at least the morning in Amman, so I'd rather stay within it or at least a cheap-ish taxi ride away from it on the Tuesday night. But if that means hours of traffic jams, maybe not!
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Also, I've read Amman to Aqaba down the Desert Highway should take about 3/4 hours - is this feasible?
Thanks!
Sarah
